One dog has discovered a sweet and original method to help him get over his fear of people and touch while still receiving lots of affection and care. Video

Everyone has history that has shaped them. Past injuries can cause phobias and avoidance of comparable situations.

Because everyone is different, they will react differently to hurtful or traumatic situations. That applies to animals too.

In a YouTube video, a whippet is scared of being touched. Unknown, but the dog may have suffered anything

that makes it react this way when touched. But knowing he still needs love and attention from his people, the dog has a Linus-worthy answer.

To snuggle and enjoy head scratching, the animal will envelop himself in a blanket and cuddle with his owners.

‘So, he uses the blanket to get closer to you and get better cuddles,’ the dog’s owner explained. ‘He digs his

way in or asks for help, and once he’s under there, he’s brave enough to curl up in your side and get treated well.’

The woman in the clip may explain why her worried and timid dog uses the blanket to get close.

The dog owner remarked, ‘It’s like a ‘If I can’t see you, you can’t see me’ thing, and when he’s under there, he’s invincible.’

The woman thinks the dog’s blanket-shielding behavior has life lessons.

The moral is to hold onto what makes you fearless, she said. ‘We need comfort blankets sometimes.’
