After finding his diamond wedding band on a sandy beach, a metal detectorist was able to bring the man and his ring back together.

During a vacation to St. Augustine, Florida, Stephane Seguin lost the ring while swimming.

When the 40-year-old noticed Joseph Cook, a detectorist, out in the sands looking for his ring, she requested him to keep an eye out for it.

The Quebec City tinsmith Mr. Stephane remarked, ‘It felt like falling in a dream when I lost the ring in the sea.’

After searching every day, we finally spotted Joseph on the beach. ‘I won’t tell him where it is because he’ll look for it and keep it,’ I told Marie-Eve.

However, when she approached him, he promised to return it if he found it.

They had no idea that, the year before, Joseph had posted a video about the find and then returned a $40,000 diamond ring.

Joseph was a resolute hero who went back to the location every day for more than a month, even after

the couple left for Canada the following week and he was still unable to find the gold ring.

‘I made the decision to give it another go, and after less than four minutes, I heard the beep beep beep and knew it belonged to them.’

He begins filming videos as soon as he hears a beep, posting all of his discoveries to his social media profiles.

He had promised to return the memento if he discovered it and had instructed the couple to follow him on social media.

Like he would with any other find, Joseph shared it on social media in the hopes that the couple would see it.

Marie-Eve and Stephane had been watching the videos at home, hoping to see the ring.
‘I had no doubt it would show up,’ the prospective groom remarked.

The Canadian couple purchased it in 2011 with the intention of using it as a wedding band, but as life

and their children came first, they had to postpone the wedding, and Stephane began wearing it nevertheless.

‘It was incredible to watch the video of him discovering the ring; I knew it was mine before he even closed the door on it.’

They traveled 1,600 miles to pick up the ring and personally thank Joseph, inviting him to their wedding.

They also sent a note containing a photo of Stephane wearing the ring to confirm its ownership.

Out of all the returns he had ever arranged, the 38-year-old detectorist and content developer remarked that these two were ‘the most humble people I’ve ever met.’

They profusely thanked me and declared that October will now always be a wonderful month in their lives. It’s the reason I do it.

Though they had taken him out to supper, given him a ring of his own, and brought him some gift baskets, Joseph requested they not give him any compensation.
