Magnificent Occasion In order to say goodbye to the graduating class, an entire school of boys breaks into a spine-tingling rendition of the Haka.

This school does a great job preparing its year 13 students for the real world. The year 12 students at Bethlehem College performed a haka in 2019 to bid the year 13 leavers farewell.

The haka, ‘Tika tonu,’ is about challenge, difficulty, perseverance, and achievement. The year 13 departing students then reply with the school haka ‘Tū hikitia rā.’

In New Zealand, hakas are worn on a variety of occasions and festivals. The haka is an essential Maori tradition that was first developed in New Zealand. It might be incorporated into a burial rite, a wedding celebration, or a farewell show.

Watch this moving and wonderful moment as kids say goodbye to their instructor with a Haka, in keeping with traditional Maori customs!
