Every year, the enormous Halloween sculptures in the architect’s front yard get better. From King Kong to an Egyptian tomb, see the photos

Every year in his front yard, a Massachusetts architect creates spectacular Halloween displays, gaining a local legend for his terrifying creations.

Tom Saltsman has continued the tradition for the previous eight years, after creating an 80’s horror-themed

sculpture for a party that so delighted his friends and neighbors that he promised to do it every year.

His home in Marblehead has become a staging area for a gigantic dragon, an ethereal skeletal spirit, a spaceship, a pirate’s ghost ship, and a roaring King Kong.

The 60-year-old prepares the installations for the scary season up to two months in advance and enlists friends and family to help finish them.

His garage was transformed into an Egyptian tomb for his most recent project, a 22-foot-tall Egyptian god, in 2022.

Together with three friends, his wife Brooke, an architect, assisted in painting all of the hieroglyphics.

He can construct the majority of the parts for less than $200 after scrounging leftover parts from his place of employment;

the resources are primarily plywood, trash bags, and different kinds of foam. (Watch the video located at the bottom.)

His fame has grown to the point where his daughter Parker is acknowledged for her father’s endeavors.

‘My dad made his first sculpture when he was 17 years old, so I’m definitely known for it,’ the 25-year-old remarked.

‘It began the moment I was born. As dad used to create these incredibly intricate cakes for my birthday, I wasn’t shocked to see the sculptures.

Tom is modest about his work and sees it more as a pastime or a means of making connections with people than as a means of achieving celebrity.

He described it as ‘just kind of a fun outlet for artistic purposes.’ ‘The community is the main audience for it.’

‘The installations must appear to have only recently been made. The dragon and the spaceship appeared to have just touched down on my home.

‘I have really patient neighbors, and people really enjoy it.’
