Holly Brown recently discovered something strange when she was in her backyard in Canada, where her seven chickens roam and eat.
Holly had never seen a circular object like the one lying in the grass by the chicken coop.
‘At first, I thought it was a ball the dog found,’ Brown wrote in an email to The Dodo. To my amazement, when I picked it up, I discovered it was an egg.

It seems that day, one of Brown’s hens deviated from its usual pattern of laying spherical eggs and instead produced one that was almost exactly round.
Brown had never seen anything like that.
This is how an egg and a ping-pong ball are compared:

Brown made the decision to post about the strange egg on social media, which helped her realize the actual worth of the chicken’s gift.
Brown’s acquaintance related a story about another woman who found a spherical egg and sold it for a good sum of money.
nonetheless not a precise statistic, reports from the time put the probability of finding a round egg at ‘one in a billion.’ This suggests that round eggs are rare, nonetheless.

Brown, on the other hand, stated that she does not wish to give up her beloved round egg. Rather,
she plans to treasure it as a conversation starter and a sentimental gift from her cherished birds.
Ultimately, Brown believes that her hens are more than just laying eggs (round or not).

‘I regard [my chickens] as pets,’ Brown stated. Their daily antics are entertaining to see.
