While strolling through streetside dumps and barking at strangers on one of his solo walks in Bangkok, Pui came across an unusual package.
The four-legged hero picked up the stuffed plastic bag from the garbage and carried it to his family
after determining it was something of interest. He did this by gently clutching the bag’s handles between his teeth.
Pui, a male Thai Bangkaew puppy of two years old, was exploring his neighborhood outside of Bangkok and picking through roadside trash.
When the adorable little ginger dog saw a white plastic bag, it was full of something that seemed to be moving.
Pui picked up the bag from the trash and carried it home to his owner, Gumnerd Thongmak, gently.
He put the sack on the terrace when he got back to his house and let out a loud bark to attract his owner’s attention.
The Bangkok Post claims that Sudarat, Thongmak’s 12-year-old niece, was the first to respond to Pui’s obnoxious calls.
Student jumped up on the deck to join the dog, and opened the bundle he held out. She cried out for her mother when she realized what was within.
Startling revelation
A newborn infant with her umbilical chord still attached was inside the plastic bag.
Sudarat was born prematurely, at roughly seven months of age, weighing only four pounds, eight ounces. Her parents hurried the frail, tiny baby to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her.
At the hospital, the baby received oxygen and other treatments, and he or she survived the awful event.
The fact that little Pui found the infant is fortunate. Little Pui never brought anything home and would only bark at people while he was out and about,
so we were surprised, said Sudarat’s mother Pummarat, who indicated that she would be interested in adopting the child. ‘It had to be fate that united us.’
The local Red Cross Chapter presented Pui with a leather collar and a medal after the dog was deemed a hero for saving the girl’s life.
Along with three other dogs who were in the home, the Thongmak family also received $300 to assist with feeding their furry hero.
We are currently unaware of the baby’s mother’s identity and have not received any updates regarding who adopted her.
