Dubbed ‘The Wolf Man,’ Jesús Aceves has faced hardships throughout his life due to his unique ailment called hypertrichosis,
which he was the second member in his family to be diagnosed with. This meant that hair covered nearly every part of his body, including his face.
He was a circus attraction at an early age due to his attractiveness, and although he eventually started a family, he opted to shave his face and wanted a regular job to be near them.

His family has more than thirty individuals who also have the same illness, according to a 2015 BBC piece.
Early on, Aceves lived in Loreto, Mexico, where he was shunned by the locals due to his appearance.
He began working when he was just 12 years old. Selling tickets for a Ferris wheel was his first employment;
he afterwards worked at a gaming stall. A proprietor of a circus had noticed him at that time.
When he was thirteen, he and two of his cousins received an offer to work with the circus. The owner assured him that he would provide them with food,

shelter, and a high salary. He disclosed, however, that despite having a cozy place to stay and abundant food, they are ‘always locked up.’
In any case, he claimed that he didn’t regret working in the aforementioned circus because it was a ‘decent job’ and that he was an entertainer.
When he encountered difficulties while working abroad, things didn’t go well, and he turned to booze as a lone comfort. Thankfully, he managed to escape that circumstance and turn his life around.
Intimate details about Jesús Aceves’ life were revealed in a documentary by A True Story. His three children, who shared their father’s ailment, were shown in the video.
Sadly, none of them were immune to the harsh realities or hurtful comments made by others; his eldest daughter Karla,
who was abandoned by her mother, disclosed that she would receive derogatory names from people, and some even advised their children not to make friends with her.
As the filmmaker Eva Aridjis stated in the film Chuy, The Wolf Man, ‘it’s less socially acceptable for a woman to be very hairy,’
she also mentioned in the BBC piece that it’s difficult for her as a woman. The non-hairy partners who fathered the women’s children have mostly abandoned them.

On the other hand, men are viewed as more masculine and typically have a large number of girlfriends.
Because her father abandoned her after she gave birth to their child, Aceves’ daughter was living in Texas, USA, as a single mother as of 2015.
After deciding to leave the circus, Aceves sought to find a respectable position where he wouldn’t draw attention
from the general population. But because of his physical attributes, it was difficult for him.
Later, in an attempt to find a solution to his issue, he and his spouse decided to shave his face.
In the documentary A True Story, he was seen having a barber shave his face. At the conclusion,
his dramatic makeover was revealed, and he appeared entirely different without any facial hair. Unfortunately, his condition will need him to closely monitor his unusual hair growth.
It was unclear what job he ended up with despite his appearance in other interviews later in the film.
