Speaking on the day that Friends star Matthew Perry passed away, Jennifer Aniston insisted that the actor ‘wasn’t struggling’ when they texted a few hours before he passed away.

Perry, who rose to prominence in the sitcom Friends as Chandler Bing, died in late October following a protracted battle with alcohol and drug misuse.

The 54-year-old was reportedly discovered unconscious in his LA home’s hot tub. When Perry’s assistant found him, they phoned the emergency services, but the star was sadly declared dead at the site.

Following the unexpected death of Matthew Perry, a lot of conjecture was generated. Perry was discovered unconscious in his Los Angeles home’s hot pool on October 28.

Perry appeared to have drowned and passed away before first responders could arrive, but he had already been pronounced dead.

Early in November, the celebrity’s funeral took place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, surrounded by close friends and family, including appropriately, his former Friends cast members.

According to a preliminary toxicology study, the actor’s body had no meth or fentanyl in it at the time of his death.

In fact, many close to Perry, who had long struggled with his demons, emphasized that the star was

making a concerted effort to get his life back on track rather than relapsing, as some other reports suggested.

Jennifer Aniston, his former Friends co-star, has now opened up about her late pal. During their time on the popular show,

Perry and Aniston became close, and their friendship lasted for years beyond the show’s conclusion.

Aniston said about Perry in an interview with Reese Witherspoon for Variety: ‘He was happy.’ He was

in good health. He was no longer smoking. He was getting fit. He said, ‘That’s all I know,’ and he was satisfied.

The actress from The Morning Show continued by confirming that she had texted Perry the day before he passed away.

‘Funny Matty, I was actually texting him that morning,’ she remarked.He didn’t feel any pain. He wasn’t having any trouble. He was content.

Despite the initial speculation in certain quarters that Perry may have been high on an unidentified medication when he passed away,

Aniston stated she wanted ‘people to know he was really healthy, and getting healthier.’ He was being pursued.
