Christmas is a cheerful and enjoyable day for most people to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Christmas is a time for giving, eating, enjoying company, and gifting. Christmas is a depressing and painful reminder for many who are hurting and struggling of what they lack yet so much want.

It is heartbreakingly evident from a YouTube video that there are people in our world, people all around us,

who are struggling to survive and frequently doing so secretly. For someone who is in need, even the little act of kindness can have a profound impact.

A young girl, her mother, and her younger brother are shown in the advertisement waiting patiently in a post office.

The young child, evidently fed up with waiting and restless, takes a seat by her brother and observes him closely, following her mother’s instructions.

But the girl’s entire attitude and manner are abruptly changed when she overhears some positive and exhilarating news.

A post office worker tells a different child, ‘Remember, you’ll get just what you want, so be as good as gold.’

The small girl remembers the government employee’s simple yet inspirational words of wisdom, and they inspire her to make extra efforts to be kind and loving to others.

Someone approaches her with their arms full, and she opens a door for them. She even gives up her seat on the city bus in order to assist an elderly woman in getting her Christmas tree back.

However, the child is disappointed when Christmas Day comes. When she wakes up, she finds that she, her mother,

and her younger brother are still living in their small apartment and that there are no Christmas decorations or gifts to be seen.

But I was so good, the young child replies.

What a painful but important reminder of the need for generosity throughout the Christmas season and the things others go without.
