Residents of the French town of Louviers are very proud of a local landmark: La Maison Cassée Vaisselle, or House of Broken Plates.
Its authors are textile factory worker Robert Wasser together with his wife. The idea of creating such a structure was born after her husband decorated the kitchen sink with mosaics in 1952.
Garbage collectors, with whom he agreed, as well as all his acquaintances, neighbors and friends participated in the process of building the structure.
So, to some extent, this building can be considered the creation of all local residents. For the interior decoration, the couple decided to use only iridescent porcelain, broken glass and shells.

What happened at the end? The owner is no longer alive, but his son successfully continues his idea. It should be noted that this building is a great success among tourists.
The courtyard is decorated in such a way that Gaudí himself would have envied such a decoration.
Here you can see original paved paths made of pieces of broken glass and porcelain and a cozy summer house, done in soft, light colors.

The dog house also attracts a lot of attention because it is a kind of art. the upper part of the structure is made in the form of flowers with a green center and transparent petals,
and the ‘entrance’ is decorated with a beautiful pearl colored glass placed in the form of an arch. In addition, in the yard you can see a nest with storks, which look very beautiful.

Even full plates were used to decorate the interior of the kitchen, which made the room more cozy and comfortable.
Of course, creating such a project is hard work, but the result was really worth it. You can take a tour of the building and grounds without leaving your home.
