Once her last shift at Walmart ended, one woman became a little emotional. See what she said(video).

Being through and going through change is rarely an easy task. Even in cases where the shift is beneficial, it could not be simple or enjoyable.

Because we are accustomed to routines and know what to expect and when, they are reassuring and secure. Change, though, upsets things and might lead to anxiety, dread, melancholy, or even rage.

A YouTube video demonstrates the range of feelings that can arise from any kind of change, even positive ones.

The brief one-minute footage opens with Gail Lewis, a 10-year Walmart employee, saying goodbye on a walkie-talkie.

She speaks into the walkie-talkie, ‘Attention Walmart, this is Gail Lewis, 10-year associate, Morris, Illinois, 844, signing out, good night.’

Following her announcement, Gail produced a video in which she broke down in tears. She clarified that

her tears were not always ones of sorrow. She did, however, clarify that she will really miss her coworkers.

She said, ‘It’s a happy sad because I’m going to a better job,’ as she started to cry. And those folks started acting like relatives. I experienced a great deal with them.

As Gail points out, it’s not always the work that will be missed when individuals are depressed and upset about quitting a job. Rather, it’s the individuals.

Workplaces and jobs are always interchangeable. Individuals can always get another job somewhere else to make money.

However, ties with coworkers and friendships are neither interchangeable or transferable.

The film mentions how Gail’s heartfelt resignation video from Walmart went viral. The number of views is over 20 million.

Life’s transitions can frequently be terrifying, challenging, and full of unknowns. However, like with Gail, it can result in greater and better things.
