When Pam and Mark got married in 1987, they were already well-known celebrities.
In 1986, Mark had just been crowned the ’Sexiest Man Alive’ by PEOPLE magazine, while Pam was enjoying the popularity of her beloved sitcom ‘Mork & Mindy.’

But in the prime of her career, Pam made a crucial decision. She made the decision to retreat from the spotlight in order to concentrate on her new responsibilities as a wife and mother.
Speaking candidly about her choice, Pam granted Entertainment Tonight an exclusive interview.
She said, ‘I don’t think two people can work in show business full-time and stay married.’

This wasn’t an impulsive decision; rather, it was a calculated move to ensure the duration of their marriage.
Pam embraced parenthood passionately after welcoming their two sons. She was living her dream, not simply playing a part.

‘After completing every task possible in my industry, I had kids. Driving my kids to school was my desire.
She said, ‘I wanted to do the school festivals, bring cupcakes and donuts, and be there for their birthdays, and I did all that.’
Mark, meanwhile, kept moving forward in his acting profession, most notably through his long-running part in ‘NCIS.’
The pair has been successful in maintaining the privacy of their family life despite his ongoing public profile.

‘Notice you don’t see us in the magazines,’ Pam said. Married people live their lives in real life.
In the present, the pair has enjoyed a happy and fulfilling marriage for more than thirty years.

Now grown men, their sons are pursuing independent careers. In response to a question concerning the impact of having well-known parents, Pam modestly played down her fame.
I’m merely their mother. It doesn’t matter to them what I did. What they are doing matters to them.
They want their parents to be concerned about their actions. For two boys, their father is already quite famous. I am only the mother.

Pam has periodically returned to the screen for special appearances in shows like ‘The Crazy Ones’ and ‘The Odd Couple,’ despite taking a sabbatical from acting to focus on her family.
Her occasional reappearances have been motivated more by enthusiasm than by necessity, demonstrating her wide range of life decisions.
