What does the woman with the longest nails in the world look like and how does she live?

Diana Armstrong from the US state of Minnesota has become the woman with the longest nails in the world.

The total length of the nails on both his hands was 1306.58 cm, which, by the way, is longer than the length of an ordinary yellow school bus.

Diana has been growing nails for over 25 years. So his right thumb has the longest nail. Its length is 138.94 centimeters.

And only this August, she allowed herself to be mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records. Why?
In 1997, a tragedy happened, due to which Diana stopped cutting her nails.

At the age of 16, his first daughter, Latisha, who gave her manicures every weekend, died of an asthma attack.

‘She gave me a manicure the other night. After that, I could no longer cut my nails,’ recalls Diana.

In the years that followed, Diana’s children tried to convince their mother to cut her nails. But she explained that growing

them helped her cope with depression after Latisha’s death and became a way to keep her late daughter in mind.

After the tragedy, Diana became a stay-at-home mom and focused entirely on growing her nails. And now that they have reached extreme length, dyeing has become a laborious process;

each can take four to five hours. Therefore, she does manicure only once every four or five years. Usually 15-20 bottles of nail polish and a special filling tool are needed for this.

Of course, long nails are uncomfortable. Diana can’t pick up bread from the floor, she refused to drive, she doesn’t buy clothes with zippers, and her children have to constantly follow her movements.

‘We have to be very careful, we always avoid her so she doesn’t hit us in the face or cut her nails’ said Diana’s children.

Previously, Diana did not agree to photography, she was afraid of public criticism and condemnation, but over time, she began to feel more comfortable and now considers her nails beautiful.

Despite their length, he was surprised that the nails caught the attention of the Guinness Book of Records.

But Diana’s children and grandchildren were happy when they learned about it.’ I think she would be proud of me because she was the last one to give me a manicure,’ says Diana.

The editor-in-chief of the Guinness Book of Records, Craig Glenday, was personally present at the awarding of

the record holder’s certificate and said that it was a privilege for him to spend the day with Diana and her family.

By the way, the previous record for the length of nails on both hands of a woman belonged to the American Ayanna Williams,

before she decided to cut them. Diana’s nails exceeded the previous record by 573.03 centimeters.
