Lori is a devoted, kind, and unselfish grandma. She stepped up and took care of several of her grandchildren in the face of challenging family circumstances,

as the YouTube video mentions. For almost three decades, Lori has been a devoted employee of a school district, serving and delivering meals to the kids.

She is a well-liked character in the district.

But according to Lori’s nomination letter, ‘despite working so hard her entire life, she has gotten by with so little.’

Lori is described as ‘the least selfish person I know’ and as someone who ‘truly cares about those around her” in the letter.

However, as the video demonstrates, it was difficult to contact Lori. She was going about her usual business,

distributing food to schools. Before they were able to capture her, the news crew stopped at many locations.

She started crying as soon as they managed to capture her. She appeared to anticipate what would happen.

She meekly says she is undeserving as the man on camera tells her they have a surprise for her. Lori claims that others are in greater need of it than she is.

Lori can’t believe her eyes when she finally opens the box and discovers the $10,000 cheque.
