For the sake of their nation, the men and women who serve in the American military forces frequently place themselves in danger.

They voluntarily donate their time and skills for the sake of their beloved nation. They give up a great deal for their fellow citizens.

But not just those in the military have to make sacrifices. Frequently, their family are compelled to endure weeks,

months, or even years without having the opportunity to see and embrace their mother, father, brother, or sister.

Seeing a father and son in a heartwarming YouTube video helps to put those sacrifices into perspective.

As the video indicates, Ty Lucas played football at Clemson University at the time. Ty played on the team as a running back.

It had been nine months since Ty last saw his father, US Army captain Cody Lucas. Cpt. Cody Lucas had spent a considerable amount of time serving in the Middle East.

However, Ty’s father hurriedly paced the yard in an attempt to surprise his son with a return before he and his colleagues took the field to fight on the football field.

Cody spoke to the camera before the big reveal and expressed how much he loves and cares for Ty.

Cody uttered, ‘Man, I love you.’ ‘You have my admiration. Thank you to all of your teammates and the coaching staff.

When the big moment eventually comes, Ty’s eyes pop. His mouth absolutely drops when he recognizes his father.

After that, the two give each other a passionate hug that has been eagerly sought. The surprise overwhelms Ty, and tears well up in his eyes.

Ty remarked, ‘It was a huge surprise.’ It was the ultimate experience. That surprised me a great deal. It was absurd.
