A teenager discovers a safe containing thousands of dollars at the bottom of a river and tracks down the owner, who had been robbed 22 years before.

A young prospect who uses a strong magnet to search riverbeds discovered a safe that held thousands of dollars.

After giving the money back to its rightful owner, the treasure hunter went viral on the internet.

Three weeks ago, George Tindale made the amazing discovery while searching the River Witham in Grantham, Lincolnshire, with his father.

They located the owner of the cash, a businessman whose safe was taken 22 years prior, by following a trail of clues.

‘It was truly amazing,’ the 15-year-old Newark, Nottinghamshire resident remarked. ‘We took out this safe, and all that money was inside.’

When the father and son discovered a pouch holding $2,500 in multicolored Australian dollars (about $1,800 US) among the filth and slime inside the little safe, they were astounded.

A certificate and bank cards that had expired were also inside, providing the magnet ‘fishermen’ with ample information to locate Rob Everett.

The generous couple paid Rob a visit at his Grantham shop last week to return the stolen items after getting in touch with him to share the incredible discovery.

‘I was simply astounded that they had managed to locate me,’ remarked Rob. ‘In this world, there exist some

genuinely kind and decent people. They might have claimed to have tried to contact me and kept the money.

When the business owner met George, he was even given a job offer. He stated that the offer is always open if I ever want work experience when I graduate from college.

George also received a small gift from Mr. Everett.

‘They went to all that trouble and I think that says a lot about humanity—that they wanted to return the goods and the contents to their rightful owners.’

Ron discovered that the young person is a proficient mathematician after seeing the video in which George quickly calculates the amount of money in the stack.

The fact that I own a wealth management company and would love for him to work with us makes it advantageous.

‘That is a really important lesson. George learns from it that doing well, being truthful, and giving back are far more fulfilling than stealing.

While George first took up magnet fishing three years ago in an attempt to find riches, his pastime now serves to draw attention to river

pollution and the negative effects it may have on wildlife. He frequently posts his discoveries on the well-liked YouTube channel Magnetic G.

George’s mother Denise stated, ‘We’re doing a follow-up video because we’ve got people hanging off the edges of their seats if you read through the comments.’
