The national anthem is something that many of us look forward to hearing at sporting events. Finding out who
will be the voice behind it is always interesting, especially during big games when celebrities are often included.
When country music star Keith Urban took to the ice during the Western Conference playoffs, the audience knew they were in for a treat.
People are shivering over his rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ on the internet.
A man with great intellect and great heart.
Country music artist Keith Urban has carved out a prosperous career for himself in the industry and is the recipient of four Grammy Awards.
He is well-known for his involvement with charities in addition to his roles as coach on The Voice Australia and judge on American Idol.
In addition to being an American citizen, Urban was born in New Zealand. He has been wed to the stunning Nicole Kidman since 2006.

This is a wonderful way to begin the game.
Fans at Nashville Predators games have seen a lot of amazing things.
From Carrie Underwood to Vince Gill, many incredible interpretations of the national anthem have been played in ice arenas.
Prior to the Predators’ game versus the Anaheim Ducks at Bridgestone Arena, Keith Urban was supposed to perform the national anthem.
According to Urban, it was the first time he had ever performed the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ in front of an audience.
The audience erupts as Keith Urban goes into the arena and takes a seat in front of the microphone. He was wearing a yellow Predators shirt, of course, with his name on the back.

Urban began his rendition of the national anthem in his own unique country style as soon as everyone had exited the arena. His voice reverberates around the room, growing louder as he sings.
The crowd erupts in cheers when he delivers the patriotic line, ‘Oh, say does that star-spangled banner still wave.’ They also applaud when Urban bangs out a song’s conclusion:
‘Over the free land and brave people’s home?’

Over the years, many artists have recorded ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ but Urban’s rendition is particularly poignant.
Similar to the football player whose performance went viral or the high school wrestler who did it.
Keith Urban learned a great deal from that.
Urban had a conversation with NHL Network’s Jon Morosi following his shift on the ice. He conveyed his appreciation for getting to play that evening.

‘In my twenty-five years of residency in the US, not a single person has requested that I perform the national anthem. It was truly an honor to perform for the Nashville Predators.
He also said to Morosi:
In addition to being nerve-racking, it’s a wonderful honor. Having spent so much time here, this is among my finest accomplishments to date.
‘It was among my proudest moments in my life.’
