After a while, Marla Gibbs made an unusual appearance. The actress’s performance on The Jeffersons made her most famous.
She has been out of the spotlight for some time, but she has stunned everyone by returning to the red carpet.
See how the 92-year-old amazed audiences during the Emmy Awards by reading on! Marla Gibbs’ most well-known performance was in the TV series The Jeffersons.
The comedy on CBS ran from 1975 until 1985. Gibbs starred in 207 episodes of the show as a series regular.
She received multiple award nominations for her work in the show, including TV Land Award, Golden Globe, and Primetime Emmy.
Her win for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series was the NAACP Image Award. Gibbs is a multi-talented woman who balances her work as an actress,
comedian, writer, and singer. However, it was her portrayal of Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons that catapulted her to stardom.

She made an appearance on the red carpet of the 2024 Emmy Awards. She wore a stunning black dress with white diamond embellishments around the edges and an abundance of sparkles.
Her short hair was pulled back from her face to showcase her exquisite jewels and understated makeup.
Author and performer Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary joined Gibbs on stage to deliver the Award
for Supporting Actress in a Limited Anthology Series or Movie. Niecy Nash-Betts was the winner of the prize.
The audience erupted in cheers as soon as they saw Gibbs walk onto the platform to give the prize.
Naturally, the sight of a real-life legend was enough to send the throng into frenzy! Even at 92 years old, the actress still has a great appearance and is a big favorite!
However, nobody was more thrilled and in amazement than Quinta Brunson, who was overjoyed to be able to present the award next to a real-life Hollywood icon!

Brunson made sure Gibbs’ uniqueness was known to everybody. She said that her professional life had ‘literally spanned decades.’
She emphasized that Gibbs is still working in the field and that, given how busy her schedule is typically, she regularly outpaces even people a third her age.
Gibbs used the occasion to crack a joke. ‘That’s easy, baby: the wage gap,’ she chuckled, adding that she would have to work for ‘20 more years’
before she could consider retiring. She also mentioned that Brunson might be able to write her a part on Abbott Elementary, teasingly noting, ‘Black people don’t crack!’

However, given how full her calendar already seems, getting Gibbs to star on the show would be an achievement in and of itself.
In 1968’s Yours, Mine and Ours, Gibbs played an uncredited role in his debut film. Since then, she has continued to work in the field. Since then, she has remained busy,
making appearances in a lot of TV series and movies. She starred in Grey’s Anatomy, Spirit Halloween:
The Movie, and Bromates in 2022. She starred in History of the World: Part II, The Ms. Pat Show, and A Snowy Day in Oakland last year.
