According to a May 2014 6ABC story, Ron Howard made the decision to sell his Greenwich, Connecticut, home.
With twenty-three rooms, six bedrooms, five complete baths, four partial bathrooms, and a private lakefront, the 32-acre estate was enormous. The asking price on the market was $27.5 million.
The property that was situated between Westchester and Greenwich, Connecticut, was first purchased by the Howard family in 1991.
Later, a home was constructed as the focal point, and additional structures including a tennis court, guest house, and pool house were erected.
According to the news outlet’s accompanying images, which feature a vintage Victorian design, an indoor lawn tennis court,
an indoor pool, exquisite wallpaper, pricey furnishings, and many other features, the mansion looks to be very large.

Ron sold the home mostly because he and his wife had reached their objective of raising their family outside of the busy city of Los Angeles, California, and were ready to move on.
‘To raise our family here, we relocated 3,000 miles away from the center of Los Angeles… ‘Cheryl and I feel we’ve accomplished the goals we set when we began work on this place,
whether we’re relaxing with friends and loved ones by the lake, star gazing in our observatory, or watching films in our theater,’ the actor remarked, as quoted by the Poughkeepsie Journal.
He went on to say that even though they were leaving the land, the memories they had of it would always be with them.
Only ten days after the house was officially listed, Ron Howard and his broker were able to find a buyer and close a contract, thus they had no trouble selling the property.
Listing agent Tamar Lurie stated, ‘The property was listed on May 3 – and 10 days later we had a deal.’
The home, which is situated in the gated community of Conyers Farm, was sold for its asking price of $27.5 million, according to a July 2014 USA Today report. The transaction was entirely cash.
It became the most expensive single residential property ever sold in the neighborhood, making history. Because they did not wish to be identified, the buyer stayed anonymous.
‘I am not shocked; it is a very lovely and spectacular house. I assumed that someone would fall madly in love with the house as soon as I saw it. And it did occur,’ she continued.
In addition to raising his children there, Ron said, as reported by Greenwich Time, he enjoyed the area’s lack of celebrity culture, which allowed celebrities to lead quiet, comfortable lives.
It’s not like that in Greenwich. They may be pretty cool in Greenwich, but maybe everybody else is interested. They’re intelligent,’ he said to the publication in 1991.
Ron became a grandfather in 2019, years after they had left the property, and he announced the happy news on social media.
