After Kelly Clarkson won the popular competition series ‘American Idol’ in 2002, she shot to fame. In the time after, the artist went on a world tour and sold millions of albums.
‘Since U Been Gone,’ ‘My Life Would Suck Without You,’ and ‘Because Of You’ are among her most famous singles.
Thanks to her amazing vocal range and tone, Clarkson has quickly risen to the ranks of the most famous and successful American pop artists.
Not only is Clarkson a phenomenal singer, but she has also made several film and television appearances,
and her endearing charisma and sense of humor have made her one of the most admired ladies in show business.
She hosts her own talk show, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ and she has also served as a judge for ‘The Voice,’ a singing competition series.
Clarkson has spent nearly two decades in the spotlight, which has put her private life on full show.
Brandon Blackstock is Reba McEntire’s ex-stepson, and she famously married him in 2013. Along with two elder children from Blackstock’s first marriage,
they had two children together: River, who was nine years old, and Remington, who was seven years old.
Their marriage, however, was short-lived; Clarkson petitioned for a divorce from Blackstock in June of 2020.
After that, they got into a nasty fight over who gets to keep the kids and who gets to keep the assets.
The division of their $10.4 million Montana ranch a major contentious asset during the divorce—and primary custody of their children were both granted to Clarkson in October 2021.
For Clarkson, the ‘single forever’ label was a lasting impression left by the tumultuous divorce processes.

In March 2022, Clarkson and Blackstock finalized their divorce, with Clarkson reportedly paying $1.3 million to Blackstock all at once and $45,601 per month in
child support for their two children, according to People Magazine. The parents-to-be have decided to share child custody, with the kids residing with Clarkson.
Being a single mom altered Clarkson’s perspective on employment, which she discussed in an interview with Variety in September 2022.
She wanted to make sure she could get her kids to school on time, so she had the performance delayed 30 minutes.
Afterwards, my nanny takes them away. Having the mornings and evenings together is a blessing. Thanks to therapy and this divorce, I’ve learnt a lot,
but the most important thing is that you shouldn’t keep anything from your children. ‘Sure,
don’t bring up inappropriate topics, but it’s alright if they see you crying or having a bad day,’ she disclosed.
During an interview with Angie Martinez for the IRL Podcast in March 2023, Clarkson discussed the effects of her divorce from Blackstock on
herself and their children in greater detail. She described a routine she follows with her two children to make sure they are okay emotionally.
“Every night before I put my kids to bed, while we cuddle up, I ask them, ‘Are you happy?’’ ‘And if that’s not the case,
then what is?’ according to her, who went on to say, ‘I’m just really sad’ on many occasions. I really wish Mommy and Daddy lived together.

Clarkson went on: ‘I simply sit there and realize that I understand. My family also has a divorced member. I understand. That is awful. However, we’ll figure it out. And you have our undying love.
Overall, the divorce severely damaged Clarkson and left her inconsolable. The singer said, ‘Every time you fall in love and it doesn’t work, it rips you apart.’ She continued, saying:
‘I think the thing about divorce — especially having it publicized, and people thinking they know the whole thing the hardest part of that is, like, it wasn’t an overnight decision.’
Clarkson also discussed experiencing a range of emotions. She sobbed, saying, ‘I was destroyed, on the ground, because that’s a loss.’ It really is a death. You mourn what you believed would last forever.
Thankfully, Clarkson has been able to make positive changes in a difficult circumstance. A source told Us Weekly in March 2023 how the singer was adjusting to being single.
According to the insider, ‘she really is enjoying being single and all the freedoms that come with it.’ In the end, the divorce altered Clarkson’s perspective on marriage. She clarified:
‘I am not going to get married. When I was younger, I had a few divorces in my own family. To fall in love would be wonderful.
Although I would love to meet someone, fall in love, and do that, I must admit that I am a parent.

Clarkson said that following her acrimonious divorce from Blackstock, she came to many realizations.
Even though it appeared as though she was making jokes, one could comprehend and realize the struggles she has faced.
During an episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ the former contestant of the singing competition disclosed details about her divorce and current romantic status to her guest, Andy Cohen, a fellow TV host.
‘Oh, I don’t know,” is how I’m usually described. Before Cohen confessed that he “cut and run” after spotting a red flag on a date,
which Clarkson says she wanted to learn how to do, she talked about her dating difficulties. ‘Perhaps they were having an off day,’ she said.
Clarkson reacted when Cohen disclosed that on dates, he prefers to be more of a cocktail person.
‘I’m not sure. I may have a stronger affinity for coffee. She was honest when she said, “I’m not sure whether I’m willing to invest in an evening with you yet. ‘I’ll never get married.’
She also acknowledged in 2021 that she has no regrets regarding her previous romances during an episode of the podcast ‘Love Someone with Delilah.’
‘I have no regrets. Even bad things that happen to you or difficult things, we may overcome these obstacles,’ the woman remarked.
However, I think that’s also what improves you as a person and helps you realize things like, ‘Okay, I missed those red flags, I missed that, I ignored that on purpose.’
In a People Magazine interview from January 2024, Clarkson acknowledged that music has been a ‘blessing’ in her life.
‘Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have that kind of healthy outlet. Because of the severity of despair and the difficulties associated with divorce or mourning, she continued.
