Students at New York Medical School erupt in cheers when a significant donation erases tuition. Look at their reaction

Students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City will be allowed to do so without paying tuition,

as evidenced by a YouTube video. This follows the announcement of the school’s faculty member Dr. Ruth Gottesman’s $1 billion contribution.

Pandemonium broke out in the audience following the announcement. Pupils cheered and started leaping up and down right away. The announcement even brought a few of the students to tears.

As the video clip makes clear, Dr. Gottesman is the widow of financier David Gottesman. That unexpected

revelation was made possible by the wealth David accumulated over his career, which included his early investment in Berkshire Hathaway, owned by Warren Buffet.

What a kind and transformative present!

The video also mentions that after her donation, Dr. Gottesman received one request from the school. She opposed renaming the institution the Albert Einstein School College of Medicine.
