When a five-year-old was unable to attend his graduation, plane passengers conducted an original midair ceremony. Check out the video.

On a recent flight from Florida to Puerto Rico, Frontier Airlines welcomed Xavier Rivas, a 5-year-old who was getting ready to ‘graduate’ from kindergarten.

However, young Xavier was 35,000 feet above sea level when his school celebrated its graduation, so Frontier attendants intervened to give him a unique ceremony.

They called out his name over the loudspeaker, inviting every passenger to congratulate him as Xavier, dressed in a crimson gown and cap, made his way down the aisle.

‘Today is his Kindergarten graduation, and he is missing it. Additionally, we are conducting his graduation ceremony on this flight because he choose to fly Frontier instead,’

the attendant remarked. The little guy’s special day included a visit to the cockpit to meet the pilots and some modest gifts. Passengers were filming the scene and several gave him high fives.

According to Xavier’s mother Janeiry Rivas, ‘he was just beyond excited, like his face lit up,’ she said on Good Morning America. ‘He was ecstatic, giving high fives and receiving encouragement from everyone.’
