Piano prodigy Ryan Wang not only won hearts on “The Ellen Show” and at Carnegie Hall, but he also gave Dorothy Landry, who is 101 years old, a special private performance.
Ryan, who was just five years old at the time, performed “Variations on an Inner Mongolian Folk Song” especially for Dorothy during this heartwarming event, which was organized by CBC Music.
Although Dorothy had been a fan of Ryan’s since he was three years old, her hearing problem prevented her from fully appreciating his previous performances.
CBC Music organized this private concert just for her, giving her a more tailored and engaging experience.

A warm, inviting room with Dorothy seated in her wheelchair made little Ryan bounce and laugh with delight as he carried a large teddy bear.
When “Grandma Dorothy” felt the magic of his music, she burst into a joyful smile that he made appear. He told her how much it meant to him to play for her.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Dorothy called Ryan a “very special little person” and that she was looking forward to his future appearances.
She asked him to return to visit her after his trip to China, emphasizing the fantastic relationship they shared and the universal language of music that brought them together.
