I feel incredibly fortunate, like the luckiest mother in the entire world. Kimberly Fugate, the mother of unexpected dental quadruplets, has talked about how her life has altered after welcoming her four children in February.
Kmberly Fugate, 43, of Jayess, Maryland, who was expecting twins, was astonished and upset when physicians told her midway through her pregnancy that she was a ‘extra’ daughter.
The likelihood of having dental babies is ‘nearly uncalculable,’ or about 13 million to one, compared to the likelihood of giving birth to quadruplets, which is one in 729,000.
Crag Fugate, Fugate’s husband, was unaware that there was a fourth child until he visited his wife in the birthing room. Km overheard a woman say, ‘I have more feet,’ indicating that she was expecting another child.
She became a mother of quadruplets at the age of 42 with the birth of her final child, who had been a on s. They were a pair.
Although there have been some ‘roller coaster’ times, the mother of four and the grandmother of an 11-year-old girl and her husband Craig couldn’t be happier with their enormous family.
She stated: ‘The babies weighed between 2 and 212 pounds and were unwell when they were born more than two months ago.’
They stayed in the NICU for more than three months, and because they were so sick, they required constant care. There have been times when I have worried about their Ls.
As I witnessed two girls be beautiful, I held my hand in solidarity with a number of the girls. The girls were thankfully given the all-clear in June, allowing them to leave the NICU and go home with their parents and sister.
They weighed in at close to 18 to 22 pounds, and their doctor is happy with their development. They’re often in good health. One quad has a severe case of a s and s being regularly monitored.
The seven-member family relocated from a two-bedroom trailer in Jayess, Michigan to a four-bedroom, double-wide mobile home so they could have more room.
They also required a bugger vehicle. Kimberly lamented, ‘I feel like the luckiest mother in the entire world. I didn’t intend to start over with additional kids, and a lot has changed since I gave birth to my quadruplets, Kenley, Kristen, Kayley, and Kelsey.
Taking care of even one infant, let alone four, is a lot of effort, but I don’t mind. They make the whole thing worthwhile, and it’s a lot of fun. The babies initially wore name-engraved bracelets, but I removed them because I was worried they would put them in their mouths.
I am certain of the identities of each baby. They each have their own unique personalities and minor physical differences, such as Kristen’s and Kenleigh’s.
Even at night, the babies continue to eat every three to four hours, and if they both awaken at the same time, I try to feed them simultaneously.
I placed them in their floor seats, gave each of them a plate of food, and went around the group. They truly are patent. Additionally, they are beginning to hold their own bottles slightly, which is beneficial.’
They are peaceful, content babies, she said. However, if they are all crying at once, it can be annoying at times. My 11-year-old daughter Katelyn is a big help.
She assists with bathing and feedings in the evenings. She aids in their sleep. She engages them in play and keeps them amused. I also have my family close by who can assist me if I need it.
I believed that God had chosen me to give birth to these quadruplets, and I had faith that He would look after them and let them go. I feel very fortunate to see how far they’ve come.
