Dakota Nelson and his wife Ream were spending a pleasant afternoon in their garage. They were smiling and having fun with a family endeavor.
It was a typical day until Dakota departed for a few minutes to find another tool. He returned home to find his loving wife comatose. Her face was blue, and she couldn’t breathe.
Dakota desperately performed CPR while his 11-year-old son dialed 911 for assistance. Ream’s brain had gone about 20 minutes without oxygen by the time she received treatment from emergency responders.
She was in a coma for several weeks before dying at the age of 38. Doctors are still unsure of the specific cause of death.
Dakota, now a widower, was left to raise seven children on his own. His children span in age from one to sixteen.Dakota worked three part-time jobs to help support his family financially.
After learning about Dakota’s plight, an anonymous contributor wanted to share some holiday cheer by donating $10,000 to the Nelson family.
In the video below, you can see Dakota’s sincere reaction as he receives this great present.
