The 92-year-old pianist astonishes the crowd. Despite having dementia, Elaine Lebar recalls her love of music.

2019 saw her play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, which went popular on TikTok. Elaine turns to play the third movement of Beethoven’s well-known work and adds,

‘I don’t know that. In Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, Lebar performed as her daughter Randy Lebar was recording.

Randi claimed that this year she was unable to see her mother for several months due to the outbreak.

In order to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s dementia and the effects pandemic-related limitations have on this demographic and their family, she shared a video of Elaine playing on TikTok when she was finally able to pay a visit once more.

Lebar claimed that requests soon started to come in. She recalled that one of them was for the Moonlight Sonata, which she had recorded in 2019.

Randy stated, ’I didn’t think this would become viral, but here we are. Despite having severe dementia, my mom, a professional musician, finds meaning in life when she is playing the piano.’
