Recently, George and Louise Dennis of Alabama celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary. They met as youngsters and were married in 1944.
When George went to Louise’s house to deliver a newspaper, that’s when he first spotted her.
When they eventually revealed to their parents that they had chosen to elope without notifying them, it created quite a fuss.
They made a vow to never be apart again in spite of obstacles like George getting wounded and being inducted into the World War II.
They also experienced the accident-related death of their daughter. They remained together in spite of these difficulties because of their faith and a straightforward tenet: ‘Yes, dear.’
