Money can help you live a nice life, but it can’t make you happy. Money is rarely a part of the most important things in our lives.

The beautiful Parisian Sandrine Devillard owned four businesses in her country, one of which was a real estate office. The blonde woman always looked classy in her nice clothes.

The rich way she lived added to her appeal. Marcel Amphoux, a gap-toothed farmer in Puy-Saint-Pierre, France, was odd.

Even though Amphoux had five homes on valuable land, he moved to Puy-Saint-Pierre in the southeast of France, close to Serre-Chevalier, a popular ski area. A French newspaper said that he was a bear.

Because of where Marcel’s land was, it was worth millions. When they met for the first time, Sandrine told him that she wanted his farm. Cottages that are made into villas could be worth a lot of money.

Residents pay low rent. Amphoux wouldn’t sell the land, which made Devillard sad.

The pretty Parisian girl asked him out to make things better. The weird man who rode a bike everywhere and said he could talk to aliens was surprised by how beautiful she was.

After only dating for a short time, the marriage was a surprise to everyone in the town. People didn’t believe Sandrine when she said that Marcel was her true love.

Amphoux and Devillard got married in Puy-Saint-500-person Pierre’s town hall on a cold, beautiful day in September 2011. The Alps, which were covered in snow, were in the background.

Sandrine wore a silk dress in a mauve color, and she held flowers.

The people in the mountains made fun of the whole wedding. They didn’t like the stranger Devillard. Villager Jacques said:

Heard boos and jeers. Everyone thought Sandrine was after Marcel’s money and things because they knew Marcel.

Many people thought the pretty agent was taking advantage of the dirty landlord. Amphoux gave up on the holiday after he said he hated Paris.

Even though the couple talked, their marriage was still questioned. Sandrine came up with a great plan to show Marcel that she loved him and shut down the rumors.

She sang “L’appel du Soleil” in a music video from April 2012 called “The Call of the Sun.” Devillard dances in the fields of the mountain.

The song video made the attractive Parisian into a rustic housewife. Sandrine revealed:

Marcel is old or medieval. I’m Parisian. There I am. I try to see my husband as often as I can.

Amphoux mentioned his marriage and friendship with Devillard in a June 2012 neighborhood newspaper interview. He also said that he hadn’t heard from his wife in a while.

In November 2012, Marcel died when his car went down a misty slope. The driver and passenger of the Devillard-friend car both lived.

Manslaughter charges were dropped against the driver. The funeral of the “Hermit of the Alps” was attended by everyone. The beautiful widow, who was 25 years old, went to the sad event.

People say that Sandrine threw herself on Amphoux’s grave while dressed in all black to show how much she loved him. The peasants kept insulting the French woman. Recalling:

Sandrine got in trouble a lot.

French law thought that Devillard would get her wealthy husband’s money. In 2016, Amphoux’s will was found. It was made by hand.

In his will, he gave his money to a cousin and the houses to the people who are living in them now. The rich hermit left his beautiful young wife with nothing.

Sandrine was so angry that she said Marcel didn’t write the will. She said that the new heirs broke their promise to her and tried to get money from her.

So, she was found not guilty. The people in the village never liked her.
