There has been significant conjecture about the renowned singer’s health over the past year or so, during which time Dion has canceled tour dates and shied away from the spotlight.
A ‘one in a million’ neurological ailment that required Dion to take a hiatus from performing and cancel her world tour was revealed to the public in December.
It was determined that the patient was suffering from stiff-person syndrome, a degenerative condition that affects the brain and spinal cord and is characterized by severe spasms and a loss of motion.

Celine announced the cancellation of her full world tour in May of this year to put her health first. In a tweet, the singer revealed:
Again, I apologize for letting you down. even though it kills my heart to do so, postponing my return to
the stage is the right course of action at this time… I refuse to give up… ..and I can’t wait to see you again!
Since then, we haven’t heard much from Dion herself, but her sister Claudette has been sharing updates on her health and expressing optimism.
‘I am confident that life will give her back what she gave because she is an extremely intelligent woman,
so very generous and talented, and in love with life as well,’ Claudette told the Le Journal de Montreal.
Rather than wallow in self-pity, I attempt to send her good energy in the hopes that she will return to the stage again.

New information suggests the 55-year-old’s condition is deteriorating, and some of her closest friends are worried she may never perform again.
Dion reportedly sold her $30 million property in Las Vegas to private equity investor Chuck Esserman before she relocated back to Canada to be closer to her friends and family.
In an interview with Radar Online, a friend of the singer revealed that Celine is one of eleven siblings all currently residing in Canada.
‘It’s an amazing, loving support system for her during a time of personal crisis,’ they continued.
The best efforts of her doctors and therapists have not been able to reverse the progression of her sickness.
According to the insider, Dion had intended to finish her globe tour before doing another residency in Las Vegas.

‘Celine had been so excited to go on a big world tour this year and next, and then settle in for another
Las Vegas residency,’ they said. But it’s looking less and less likely that she’ll ever take the stage again.
