The child spends his sixth Thanksgiving with the woman who accidentally invited him to ‘grandma’s’ house.

With every year that goes by, Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench feel more and more grateful to have each other in their lives.

Before Dench accidentally invited Hinton over for dinner in a text message intended for her grandson, the two had never met.

Hinton grabbed a photo with Dench, 64, and his partner Mikaela when they were present. Hinton had just revealed that the two of them would be spending the holiday together.

Hinton, who is 22 years old, wrote ‘Thanksgiving 2021’ in the caption of a photo in which she shared images from their past five Thanksgiving celebrations. ‘6 years and still going strong’

He also shared a touching photo of him, Dench, and Mikaela smiling and clutching a painting and photograph of Dench’s deceased spouse Lonnie, who tragically passed away in April 2020.

Dench invited Hinton, who was 17 years old at the time, over for dinner in place of her 24-year-old grandson in November of 2016.

This is how the two buddies first met, and it was the selfies they sent to each other to show their mix-up after a brief time of miscommunication.

When Hinton texted asking whether he could still come over for dinner, Dench, who subsequently learned that her grandson had changed his phone number, said, ‘Of course you can’.

The encounter, according to him, acted as a ‘reminder that there are still some good people in this world.

She is an absolutely beautiful person. I’m not sure what it was about her, but she just had a vibe that made me feel comfortable.

Dench also asserted that following their initial discussion, she had an immediate connection with him. She was thinking to herself at the time, ‘Oh my my, I want to get to know this person.’

Hinton documents the Thanksgiving holiday each year on his different social media sites by taking pictures with Dench at her Arizona home.
