One of Thomas’ coworkers captured their recent engagement at an airport, where they were surrounded by emotional well-wishers, on TikTok.

They started dating in high school about 60 years ago, but after their initial relationship didn’t last, they gradually lost touch.

When the couple got back together last month, their bond was still as strong as ever, and they both felt as though no time had gone.

After communicating for several weeks, Thomas and Nancy travelled to Tampa to meet, and it was then that Thomas proposed to Nancy while everyone else was in tears.

Thomas made a moving statement in which he professed his love for Nancy. He said: ‘My dear Nancy,

it has been 60 years since we first met, 56 years since we first dated, 10 years since I last saw you, and 20 days since we reconnected.’

Thomas expressed his love for Nancy and pledged to spend the rest of his life making sure she is content and aware of his love for her.
