According to People Magazine, Reeves and Grant’s romance first came to light in November 2019 when they were seen holding hands at a Los Angeles event.

Although they had been dating for a while, they hadn’t made their relationship public until then. Grant, a Los Angeles-based artist and

philanthropist, attracted a lot of attention right away. The two allegedly met in 2009 at a dinner party, where they then went on to form a business partnership and friendship.

In fact, they worked together on the 2011 book ‘Ode to Happiness.’ As a result, they founded a publishing company called X Artists’

Books together, which is referred to as ‘a small publisher of thoughtful, high-quality, artist-centered books that fit within and between genres’on their website.

Grant chatted with Vogue magazine in March 2020. She detailed how many friends and acquaintances enquired about her relationship once she and Reeves initially became well-known in it. She clarified:

‘It’s interesting to think that everyone I knew called me in the first week of November. But throughout it all, my main concern has been, ‘What is the opportunity for good?’

With the publication of ‘Ode to Happiness,’ which combines Reeves’ poetry with Grants’ artwork, the pair began working professionally together for the first time around 2011.

According to Grant, ‘The book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift,’ she told Vogue.

It was never intended to be published or made available to the general public. Grant, however, noted that their friends had urged the couple to proceed with the plan:

When I handed it to him, our friends in the room started laughing and pleaded with me to publish it. Thus, that is how we began publishing.

When pushed further about the prospect of marriage in her interview with Vogue, Grant had a deft response:

‘Over a wine glass… I wish I could tell you. My identity is deeply rooted in love at all levels. How’s that for sidestepping the inquiry?

I do not think that seclusion is the answer. As a painter, I go through periods of solitude, but I also enjoy the feeling of being in partnerships.

Grant grew up all around the world, including in Mexico, Spain, and France. Her affinity for the written word

must have been influenced by her background because as an artist, she frequently uses words in her pieces.

Grant and Reeves have definitely traveled extensively and share a passion of art.

Given that Grant isn’t exactly your average Hollywood girlfriend—as she herself revealed in her interview with

Vogue—not everyone appears to think Reeves and Grant’s relationship makes perfect sense, even though they seem to be a nice match.

She told the magazine, ‘I’m a 6ft 1in woman with white hair. ‘You know, trying to fit in. I would need to

get surgery to have roughly a foot cut off each of my legs if I wanted to look like Kim Kardashian.

Nevertheless, it’s good to see Reeves in a contented relationship, regardless of what people may think of the actor’s bond with Grant. He deserves it after everything he’s been through.

Grant in particular was the target of criticism considering the couple’s relationship as well as Grant’s

age and potential for having children.
