Bentley, a Goldendoodle, went lost for 19 days after being flung from the car in a deadly incident
in the Colorado highlands. She had been looking for her puppy for hours, but had refused to give up hope.
The day of their reunion had finally come, and it was an emotional one, full with emotions of pleasure and relief.

In the summer of 2018, Samantha Orr and her mother Jennifer were traveling to Colorado with their family when they came upon a
giant rock in the road. When Jennifer swerved to avoid it, the car went off the road and plummeted 600 feet down a mountainside.
Samantha suffered severe injuries, including broken bones and compressed vertebrae, while Samantha’s mother tragically perished in the collision.

In the middle of her sorrow and healing, Samantha couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to Bentley, her cherished Goldendoodle, who was in the Jeep with them at the time of the collision.

Willing to look
Samantha reportedly saw Bentley being tossed from the car, as stated on the “Bring Bentley Home” Facebook page.
‘My mom and my dog were my best friends,’ she told KOAA.
She begged others to start looking because she thought that finding the dog would be essential to bringing the family closure.

However, the dog had been missing for two weeks. The family believed he was alive someplace, nonetheless, despite this.
She posted on Facebook, saying, ‘We know he’s still out there, afraid. ‘We must return Bentley to his grieving family in Kansas,’ said the group.
Samantha Orr got a message from Joseph Stratmann on the ‘Bring Bentley Home’ Facebook page after a few days of silence.
Near the scene of the collision, he had been looking for Bentley and leaving food out for him.
19 days after the collision, on a Saturday morning, Orr and Stratmann reunited in the highlands to go on the hunt for Bentley.
They were fortunate to see Bentley! The terrified dog, though, resisted approaching them.
She wrote, ‘His fear eventually got the better of him and he made his way to the ridge (top).’ ‘I followed him slowly but surely, and when I got to the top, I could see him watching me.’
Orr tried to entice Bentley to relocate with food and a new toy, but the dog remained wary and wouldn’t budge.
Orr decided to give him some space after noticing his concern and started filming him on her phone.

Bentley may be seen in the heartbreaking video in the distance, standing right where the collision occurred. Orr can be heard sobbing in the distance as he looks down at the Jeep’s wreckage.
Bentley starts to approach her after suddenly appearing to recognize Orr as he puts the pieces of his surroundings together.
Orr begs, ‘Momma, it’s momma.’ Good boy… Come on over. After some back and forth, Bentley felt reassured and sprinted in her direction.
‘cknowledging a savior
Bently’s saviour was thanked by Orr on Facebook, who wrote:
‘On Saturday, Joe served as my living guardian angel. He guided me up the mountain securely, helped me stay composed and upbeat, and gave me everything I needed at the time.
He occasionally served as my human stepping stool as I crawled up the mountain on all fours without a place to put my feet.
I can only thank this extraordinary man for allowing me to interact with my traumatized Bentley.
This puppy would not have found its way home if Joe had not intervened. Joe, you’re the best.
On her blog, she talked about how the accident affected her and how she dealt with it.
She claimed that nothing could ease the loss of her mother-related anguish. “However, having him back meant that I had one less loss to bear,
and I will always be appreciative of having my mountain man at his home in safety. On occasion, while I watch him doze off on his back,
carefree, I try to picture what he may have experienced during those years. Although I have no idea, I’m incredibly proud of him.
