Chinese couple Liang Zifu and Li Suying have been together for sixty years.

They reaped in 1960.The newlyweds had no property at that time. The money was not enough not only to buy a house, but even to rent a small room.

Therefore, they decided to build a family nest in the cave. Under the stone arches, the couple ‘prepared’ a bedroom, kitchen and living room for themselves. In time, they had a small farm.

They got chickens and pigs. There were also dogs. They mainly ate fruits and vegetables. In the neighboring village, they exchanged clothes and other necessary things for meat or eggs.

The hermit couple had four children. Liang all by herself gave birth to a baby. When the sons and daughters grew up, they moved to live in the city, while their parents stayed in the cave.

The regional leadership found out about the couple very recently. Local media started writing about them. Elderly Liang and Li were offered an apartment in the city where the children live.

However, the 86-year-old husband and his 81-year-old wife refused. They say that they have learned to live in a cave for so many decades.

They love silence and solitude.Therefore, they do not want to destroy the marital idyll.
