A World War II veteran who is now 99 years old received a wonderful surprise from first responders on his birthday…

Veterans who voluntarily risked their lives to serve their country during times of war should always be remembered for the sacrifices they made.

As a result, if they are still alive, they should receive the most love and support possible from the community.

In a happy twist of fate, this is precisely what happened to a man by the name of Joseph Taylor Jr.,

who in 2022, on the occasion of his 99th birthday, received the biggest surprise of his whole life.

The soldier was born in the state of Pennsylvania in 1923, according to Fox 8. He served as a military spotter during World War II.

Determining whether or not there were hostile ships and aircraft in the vicinity back then was one of his main jobs.

The kind-hearted elderly man from Brunswick celebrated his birthday with a surprise that was organized by

his neighbors to honor his bravery and give him the best care possible, according to a news report that was shown on WKYC Channel 3 in July 2022.

Taylor’s neighbors realized they needed support with their strategy and made the decision to contact the neighborhood fire and police departments.

On the day of his party, the old man was surprised to see a line-up of emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and police cars, pass in front of his apartment building.

‘I had no idea what was happening at all. He informed the publication that he was very frightened as background recordings of automobiles honking their horns played.

‘When that turned out to be true for me, I was shocked. However, others have done that for me in the past. He remarked that their actions were pretty kind.

According to the news report, numerous law enforcement officials gathered in his front yard to celebrate his birthday by giving him cake and balloons.

The audience then roared and applauded as he put out the candle to remember the significant occasion.

Taylor was one of those who fought and served in World War II, and according to Greg Glauner, the chief of

the Brunswick Fire Department, he was a ‘survivor,’ therefore it was important for them to remember him.

When asked what the secret was to living a long life, Taylor replied that people should ‘live clean and throw the bottle away’ because consuming too much ‘bottle’ is bad for everyone’s health.

When Joseph Taylor Jr. lived for one more year after that, he would turn 100 in July 2023. Once more, he was honored by a party and a very special present from his friends and neighbors.

The veteran celebrated the significant occasion with a variety of people, including his neighbors,

first responders, members of the American Legion Post 234, and others, according to WKYC Channel 3.

At the time, Taylor expressed his joy at approaching 100 years old and expressed satisfaction with the contributions he had made over his military service.

In honor of his 100th birthday and the year he turned 100, government officials in Brunswick gave him a proclamation

and a certificate of congratulations. He received both of these as gifts in recognition of his centenary year.

In the news article, people could be seen congregating in front of his home, where he could be seen sitting contentedly beside two other elderly men.

He was welcomed by people in his neighborhood, but he also received inspiration and support from others online.

He looks terrific, I must say.On the WKYC Channel 3 video, one user said, ‘Happy birthday, gentleman.

Someone else wished Joseph a happy birthday and remarked, ‘God bless you on your special day.’

‘Have an amazing birthday! You have my appreciation for your assistance. You received a comment on a Facebook post from someone writing, ‘Enjoy your special day!’

He was greeted by someone who said, ‘Thank you for your service, and happy birthday.’
