A 16-year-old yodeler wins a four-chair spot after a special blind audition…Video

Ruby Leigh, a Missouri teenager, demonstrated in her blind audition for The Voice that the Lord has given her with a distinctive and uncommon style of singing: yodeling.

She sang, played the guitar, and even yodeled while playing ‘I Want to be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart’ by Patsy Montana.

Her performance in the audition was outstanding! All four judges—John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire—turned their chairs in support of the incredibly talented young woman.

Ruby’s audition doesn’t go long before the judges start turning around in their chairs in support of her. John Legend stops singing after about 15 seconds. He is the first magistrate to side with her.

Reba moves quickly after the young woman begins yodeling. Her chair is launched at the young, brilliant performer when she presses her button.

Reba is not far behind as Gwen and Niall swivel their chairs to show their interest in and awe at Ruby’s musical prowess.

Everyone is standing as Ruby Leigh’s audition is over, praising her for her incredible performance.

The judges employ every trick in the book to try and persuade Ruby to choose them as her coach. They all find her amazing and keep mentioning it.

Even demonstrating their ability to yodel, Gwen and Reba make an effort to connect with the young woman.

Ruby ultimately decides to take Reba McEntire on as her coach and mentor for this season of The Voice, though.
