A kangaroo gave the men who saved him a handshake, which is a beautiful method some animals have of saying ‘thank you’ to those who save them.

David Boyd, a man, reportedly witnessed a kangaroo in Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin, according to the Daily Mail Australia.

The animal was reportedly unable to flee since the water had frozen. But two courageous witnesses waded into the chilly waters to help the kangaroo.

To avoid startling the kangaroo, the men move carefully up to it. The kangaroo starts flapping its arms until they reach close enough to grab its arms and lead it to safety.

The men seize the animal and lead it out of the river without backing down. The kangaroo is lifted onto dry land with the help of a third guy,

who also helps to calm the anxious and trembling animal. Despite appearing friendly, kangaroos can be violent if they feel threatened.

They have a punch that resembles a boxer, razor-sharp claws, and a kick that can, according to experts, dismember a man.

Thankfully, this kangaroo seems to comprehend that these men were there to assist and, in a kind gesture,

he extended his paw as though shaking hands. The person documenting the rescue comments, ‘Aw, look at him thanking you.

The kangaroo required a half-hour to calm down since it was in ‘shock,’ according to the Daily Mail Australia.
