Once the woman had to leave her studies to take care of her sick mother and younger brothers and sisters.
This charming old lady’s name is Margaret Tom Bekema. At one point, he failed to graduate from Grand Rapids Catholic School.
The woman should have graduated in 1936. But in 1932, she stopped attending classes because she had to take care of her younger siblings. His mother had cancer, so she also needed care.

And now, 79 years after her graduation year, through the efforts of one of her relatives, Margaret still got her high school diploma.

The woman was so grateful to everyone and so happy for the graduation cap that she couldn’t hold back her tears.
Presenting Margaret with her diploma, the current principal of her school called her an example of sacrifice and service to family ideals.
She considers her election back in 1932 as an inspiring act for the entire modern society. Because these are the values that Grand Rapids is trying to instill in students today.
