He admitted to having been in an automobile accident in 2010 that left him with a broken neck.

He was a passenger in a Porsche that skidded on oil and hit a wall at 70 mph while traveling to Spain.

He declared at the moment, ‘I’m very grateful to be alive. One of my nine lives has undoubtedly been expended.

Five years later, Darius developed meningitis from consuming Thames water and went into a coma.

The horrific occurrence happened as he drank water from a Thames sewage outlet while recording a promotional

video for his charity’s Fresh2O Water filter, which claims to eliminate 99.9% of all known “water-borne pathogens, bacteria, and viruses.”

When asked about it, he responded, ‘We shot a demonstration movie down by the Thames near to a sewage outflow in order to gather donations to get the water filters to Africa.

‘The filters eliminate 99.99% of all known bacteria, viruses, and diseases that are water-borne.

‘I raised the money and drank the water for the video, but when I traveled to Glasgow to visit my mother for her birthday, I passed out.

It was discovered that I had cerebral oedema, a condition in which the brain grows larger than the skull.

‘My dad helped me survive. He drove me to the hospital, where they immediately made a diagnosis. A bacterial meningitis struck me.

‘I had a lingering inflammatory illness that I had caught from the Thames.

‘It caused my white blood cell count to drop for several months and reduced my immunity, making me susceptible to catching any illness that was going around.

I contracted bacterial meningitis, which was on the rise at the time because I had been flying a lot.

His mother, Avril Danesh, was undergoing treatment and chemotherapy for breast cancer at the time of the incident in 2015, which took place.

As he emerged from the coma, he recalled seeing his mother sitting next to the bed.

‘Yet she was sitting next to me telling my brother that they almost lost me with tears in her eyes.’
