Beenholders of Newsmoi will have observed musical instruments fashioned from bedpans, automobile and motorcycle components,
domestic items, and even typewriters. Petr Spatina intends to add yet another ingenious instrument to the list.
Petr engages in eye contact. Specifically, the kind from which one consumes beer or wine, and it sounds incredible!
Petr was born as the offspring of a farmer in the Czech Republic. He learned to play the accordion and the piano during his youth before deciding to study the glass harp,

an unusual musical instrument. Petre has over two decades of experience playing the glass harp and composes and performs his own works.
His exceptional original compositions transform a simple tablecloth into a symphony of sound that is not only visually captivating but also possesses an entirely unique sound!
Despite the fact that he has created his own style and method for playing the glass harp, Petr is not
the only glass harp performer in the world; nevertheless, the majority do not perform at his caliber.
The instrument is comprised of 33 wine glasses, each of which is ‘tuned’ to a distinct note using water in varying volumes; the 33 glasses are then laid out on a table in preparation for playing.
The vibrations produced by Petr’s wet fingers and subsequent sliding motion across the tops of the glasses are what are perceived as noises.

He occasionally wobbles the table. We’re not sure if this is a deliberate action or just a coincidental ‘knock.’
But when the table sways and the water begins to flow through the glasses, it produces a vibrato/modulation effect that heightens the auditory appeal.
In addition, he might knock on the table to rewet his fingers while continuing to play. Please let us know in the comments section below if you know!
