A 91-Year-Old Gym Member Who Still Lifts Weights While Wearing Overalls Has Become a Poster Boy for Good Health on Social Media

This 91-year-old man is now an inspiration to thousands of people online as well as to his entire gym.

Lloyd Black struggled to complete basic household activities last year, so he made the decision to join the Anytime Fitness gym in Semmes, Alabama.

He thought going to the gym would help with his sporadic aches and pains and strengthen some of his muscles.

Black has been consistently going to the gym three times a week for the past year. He claims that he likes to work out in overalls and coveralls because they are warm, comfy,

and he has ‘trouble keeping his pants up’ in other clothes, even if his ensembles draw a lot of attention.

Ashley Seaman, the gym manager, said that when Black first started going to Anytime Fitness, he could hardly use the treadmill for more than ten minutes before getting tired.

But now, the senior can power walk for thirty minutes without any trouble at all before starting his exercise regimen.

In addition, he spends time teaching other senior citizens who are new to the club how to operate the weightlifting machines.

‘He’s simply a kindhearted person,” Seaman told TODAY. It’s adorable because he will go to the senior members who are the other silver sneakers and teach them how to operate the machines.

Seaman just awarded Black ‘Member of the Month’ in recognition of his advancements.

The gym posted on Facebook, saying, ‘Mr. Black joined our Anytime family a year ago and we have seen nothing but motivation and inspiration from him since he started.’

He boasts about how much his exercise regimen has aided him in his everyday activities and claims to be 91 years old.

They continued, saying that ‘seeing someone like him inspires others to keep it up and incorporate fitness into their lives.’

‘We hope to have him for many more years to come because it brightens our day to see him in the gym three times a week working out in his overalls!’

Social media users have already shared Black’s images thousands of times, complimenting him for being such a wonderful role model.

Seaman told TODAY, ‘He says that he will do his bicycle (exercises) in the bed even before his feet hit the floor and it helps them to get up and do things in the morning.’

‘[He demonstrates] that getting older is just a number, you can still work out, and it’s never too late.’
