Early in November 2021, a woman shared a very unique and private moment with her gorgeous young girl.
She then made the decision to post it online for public viewing. On November 1, 2021, a mother by the name of Christina Pax posted a short video to TikTok of her interacting with her daughter.
For most parents, this would have seemed like just another day in the office, but for Pax and his daughter,
it held extra significance because it was the first time she had ever heard their voices.
Riley is deaf, but she was able to hear Pax’s voice at last because of a helpful device called hearing aids.
The young child was able to hear new sounds—including her own mother’s voice—thanks to the gadget.
The mother and daughter were sitting together, and it was a really tender and wonderful time for both of them.
Apart from reliving her own experience with her child, Pax shared the video for a very significant reason.
Pax was first apprehensive to share the heartwarming moment’s video, but she ultimately consented to do
so in order to support the deaf community and increase awareness of what it’s like to parent a deaf child. She also wanted to go into more detail about how she felt about hearing aids.
Following the brief video’s discovery and admiration of the sweet mother-daughter contact, people from all over the world have been moved by the baby’s emotional response.
Pax is a mother who is now learning American sign language and promoting deaf awareness, according to her TikTok bio.
Pax shared a touching TikTok video with her deaf daughter Riley on November 1st, 2021. The mother uploaded the
video with a disclaimer explaining why she wasn’t first willing to share it and what finally convinced her to.
Pax clarified: ‘I contemplated uploading this video of my deaf child hearing my voice for the first time before deciding against it.’
Not everyone who is deaf finds that hearing aids are a ‘magical solution.’ People who are deaf don’t require fixing.
They just provide you access to audio. However, for us, this was a really unique occasion.
According to the Mayo Clinic, there are multiple types of hearing aids with different features; some help with reading lips, while others help with hearing sounds.
Pax spoke kindly to her daughter, who was shown in the video wearing hearing aids. The video shows
the baby reacting emotionally to hearing her mother’s voice; she can be seen grinning, sobbing, and giggling.
The TikTok video has since amassed over a million views and countless encouraging comments. One reviewer
declared that she has known the voice for her entire life and is ‘so in love’ with it. Another added, ‘Oh my gosh, I started crying.’ What a unique, beautiful moment.
‘OMG the intensity manner she’s taking everything in and soaking you in,’ exclaimed a third TikTok user.
She is exhausted and happy at the same time. It’s clear that many of the viewers of the little video experienced the same emotions that Pax and her child felt at the time of filming.
