The custom of exchanging gifts with friends, relatives, and coworkers over the Christmas season is known as the ‘Secret Santa gift exchange.’

While many people take much time and effort when choosing a present for someone, some people appear to attend these occasions merely to be there.

The choice and quality of the presents they choose demonstrate how little they think about the recipient.

One of those ridiculous Secret Sants present unwrapping moments he had to endure was shared by a TikTok user, @star_hollywood, and it seriously soured his holiday spirit.

His TikTok video, which he filmed about his workplace’s Secret Santa gift exchange, went viral and exposed the carelessness with which someone had chosen a present for him.

His coworker’s gift to him is revealed, and he uses the opportunity to vent his displeasure and aggravation.

Nevertheless, he had worked very hard to prepare his colleague’s gift. He says, ‘I will not be participating at Secret Santa anymore in any job, any workplace,

ever again,’ while the camera stays fixed on a green present box that is fastened with a glittery stick-on bow on top.

‘Last Friday, everybody was supposed to bring the gift,” he says. ‘I exerted every effort. I covered the Santa paper and the bag with Christmas lights. Inside the bag,

I had a variety of stocking stuffers. I adorned the gift bag with bells. I really went above and above for the woman I got.’

The man arrived ready in his ugliest Christmas sweater, genuine excitement for the Christmas present exchange.

He had no idea, though, that his exhilaration would soon give way to a great deal of disappointment.

The man gave an explanation for his choice to provide thoughtful gifts, despite the fact that many could counter

that the excessive consumption of gifts associated with these customs has stifled the spirit of the holidays.

He made the observation that many of the workers in his office might not even have friends and family

outside of work with whom to exchange gifts, or they might not even receive gifts on a regular basis.

Following Secret Santa events, other TikTok members flocked into the comment section to relate their experiences with all the strange gifts they had received

from coworkers throughout the years. @olivias512 posted, ‘Our Secret Santa was supposed to be $25-$50 and my boss got my name and she gave me a

trinket, the ones people sell on the corner for $.25 for the blind, so I took her gift.’ @danajoitowns stated, ‘We started using Elfster for our company secret Santa

and you had to get something off of your person’s wishlist for this very reason.’ @jxssexica said, ‘I stopped playing Secret Santa when I was in elementary and I remember my mom went out of her way and I got back a puzzle with missing pieces.’
