It’s difficult to recognize him even though twenty years ago he was a global superstar.

Pete Sampras, the tennis legend known for his 14 major titles, just made a comeback and hasn’t let up in the ten years after he announced his retirement from the game.

Even though Sampras was regarded as one of the greatest players in history, he had previously distanced himself from the spotlight.

However, he briefly returned to the public glare due to recent events, most notably his revelation three months ago of his wife Bridgette’s battle with ovarian cancer.

‘The past year has presented significant challenges for my family, and I have chosen to share our experiences,’

said the usually reserved Sampras in an unusual public statement to the ATP Tour. For Sampras, who is renowned for his extraordinary degree of prudence, this was a noteworthy move.

When Sampras attempted to maintain his privacy by appearing at a Starbucks in Beverly Hills, many were surprised.

He was carrying iced coffees and was dressed casually, only sometimes nodding to people observing him.

After 23 years of marriage and two kids, Pete and Bridgette Sampras still call California home. This is because the state is not subject to the same kind of scrutiny as the tennis world.

Sampras formally announced his retirement from men’s tennis in 2003, having finished his career with 64 singles championships.

He occasionally participates in demonstration bouts, but his family has always come first.
